We’ve recently modified how we present pages on our Vehicle Display Pages. Previously you had to repeatedly click ‘Show Next 12’ to view all the listings. The bigger issue with this approach was that the page could not remember when a vehicle was viewed that it needed to return to the set of results you had been previously viewing.
We’ve now modified this to return listings as pages which can be easily clicked on. More importantly with this new pagination feature the web page has no problem remembering what set of listings the browser was viewing before clicking on an individual vehicle. This enhancement was deployed a few weeks ago and is part of our ongoing commitment to making the AutoPlay Vehicle Display page the best plug in experience money can buy.
We have also been working on a ‘My Garage’ function which allows browsers to save vehicles they are interested in to view at a future date. To add a vehicle to My Garage it’s a simple tick box located on the Search results under each listing.
Saving a vehicle to My Garage will store that listing for 7 days. This means that unless the browser clears their browsing history, when they return to the website they will be able to view the listings they previously saved. These listings can then be emailed to themselves or a friend or family member to view.
The My Garage functionality is scheduled to be released in June this year and will be automatically added to the Vehicle Display Page.

Earlier this year we released our new Desktop Studio which contained a number of new features that we are getting really positive feedback on. However, we still have some users holding out and using the old studio.autoplay.co.nz url. If you are still on the old version, we strongly recommend that you update to http://automotive.autoplay.co.nz asap.
The old version of the Desktop Studio is no longer being supported and will be obsolete. In particular, if you are a Sales Pipeline user you may experience inconsistencies if your dealership is using a mix of the old Studio and the new. We will be shutting off the old link in early July so it is recommended that you update now to save yourself the hassle. To use the website just visit the URL http://automotive.autoplay.co.nz and click on the ‘Download to my desktop’ option to install an icon to your desktop.
Additionally, Apple have recently updated the iOS operating system to version 9.3.2. Many users are still on iOS7 which is becoming seriously out of date to run your iPad or iPhone. The AutoPlay Sales Pipeline is still supported on iOS7 however we recommend you update your iOS to ensure your experience is free of frustration. As Apple continues to upgrade iOS AutoPlay will cease support of iOS7 in the future. Click on GENERAL > SOFTWARE UPDATE in the SETTINGS menu in your iPad to check the version you are on and update to the latest.
Earlier this year we launched the AutoPlay Academy – our online e-learning process that helps dealerships train themselves on the Sales Pipeline. We initially launched with 4 e-learning modules including;
Over time we will be adding more – from broad overviews all the way down to the nitty gritty. Each AutoPlay Academy module contains a brief intro, a video tutorial and some questions relating to the video you have just watched.
Since we launched the AutoPlay Academy we have used it as part of our on boarding process for all new customers, as well as for new employees at existing customers and a few dealerships who needed a refresher. So far we have had really positive feedback that the process provides users with another avenue to learn the Sales Pipeline.

If you would prefer a more face-to-face approach AutoPlay can also provide a full day of dealership training for $1,000 + GST per day (+ flight, accommodation and car hire expenses for customers outside of Auckland, Hamilton or Whangarei). Face to face training will involve a management session and a user session with the sales team. Prior to coming out to see you we will check with management whether there is anything specific they wish to cover, and tailor the training programme to suit.
